From the airport:
- A taxi costs €33 (fixed price) and takes twenty minutes. Make sure that €33 is showing on the meter before you leave the airport. It is illegal for taxis picking up at the airport stand to charge more than €33.
- The airport bus costs €5. You’ll find the bus stop past the taxi rank, and buses leave every fifteen minutes. Get off at Cibeles, and it’s a twenty-five minute walk. Use Google Maps, with Carrera de San Francisco 6 as your destination.
Driving: if you are coming in to Madrid on the M4, take the Pyramides exit and take Gran Via de San Francisco exit from the roundabout. At the next roundabout (at the Basilica de San Francisco el Grande), take the exit on to Carrera de San Francisco.
Parking: There is an underground parking lot behind Mercado de la Cebada (access via Calle de Toledo). If you stopped at the apartment to drop off luggage, continue on Carrera de San Francisco past Mercado de la Cebada, turn right on Calle de Toledo and immediately right. On-street parking: you will generally find a parking spot on Calle de Segovia but you need a permit if you are driving a foreign car.
